FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — Museum officials say an art exhibit opening this weekend in North Texas is the first devoted to Claude Monet’s early career.

The exhibit, titled “Monet: The Early Years,” opens Sunday at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth. It features about 60 paintings spanning from Monet’s Normandy debut in 1858 age the age of 17 until 1872, when he settled in an area near Paris at the age of 31.

The exhibit features paintings from all over the world. Curator George T.M. Shackelford says the show will feature not only Monet’s most familiar paintings but also some masterpieces that are almost never seen.

The North Texas exhibit will run through January 29. The show then opens February 25 at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco.
